On Saturday, I will be competing in a higher grade (higher than my grade) math competition. I'm dead nervous about it, and I will be until it's over at one o'clock. Wish me luck on those problems! On Sunday or so I will post how I did.

The only school academic competitions I've done this is, is this thing called "NewsBowl" where u go againist kids from different schools all over the US in current events.my group got 3rd out of about 180 schools last month.

That's cool. Thanks for the luck wik! I shall store it in my magic bowl of luckiness... sorry my responses are dampened a little bit by nerves. This is my first math competition, and lately I havn't been flourishing in math.

thanks for the reassurance! It's not like it's possible to fail or anything... and I've accomplished at least something just by getting to the competition...

Well, your probably done by now, so I hope you did really well, and even if you didn't remember it was a higher grade, so don't get down on your self.

ok so there are three rounds that I participated in...

sprint round- we got 30 questions and 40 minutes to answer them. I don't know how well I did because we didn't get our results. They will be mailed to our "coach" (My teacher) in like a week or so.

target round- we had 8 questions, but we got 2 questions at a time and had 6 minutes to answer them.

team round- I wasn't on the actual team (the ones whose results were actually talied) but I did the questions just for fun with a different team, and we only missed two apparantly. (I don't know, because I wasn't the one who talied up ours)

countdown round- I didn't compete in this round, but they took the 10 best people from the sprint round and the target round and put them against each other.

soooo once I get my results I will post them up!
